The many artistic renderings of Jonah and the whale
To quote Qui-Gon, "there's always a bigger fish."
Thank you. There is a book, written by a Romanian author from XX century, called "Iona" - this is obviously the translation of the name. It's a beautiful and powerful meditation on life, death, loneliness, destiny. I confess I had little, if at all knowledge of the original mythological character or story, so to this day I make the connection to it through Marin Sorescu's text.
Fascinating study, thank you.
